Adel Taarabt is having a medical at AC Milan with a view to joining them on loan for the rest of the season.
Queens Park Rangers' Morocco international forward, 24, is currently on a season-long loan at Premier League club Fulham
The former Tottenham playmaker says he is looking forward to linking up with Mario Balotelli in Italy.
"I know very well who he is and it will be great to play with him" Taarabttold AC Milan's official website.
The Italian side confirmed that Taarabt arrived in Milan on Thursday morning and they expect to complete the signing subject to a successful medical.
"In order for his transfer to be made official, we must wait for the necessary procedures to take place," an AC Milan statement read.
Taarabt was not involved in Fulham's 2-0 league defeat at Swansea on Tuesday.
"We thought it would be a wise decision to not include him," Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen said.
Taarabt began his career at Lens before moving to Tottenham in 2007.
During his three years at White Hart Lane he had two loan spells at QPR before joining the Loftus Road club in a permanent deal in August 2010.
He helped the Hoops return to the Premier League in his first season, but could not prevent them from sliding back down at the end of the 2012-13 campaign.
